Resort: Northern Scotland
Dates: Whenever it snows
Price: £1
Sick and tired of those sunny alpine days, with meters of powder and snowparks?
Scottish Trips are a unique part of EUSSC - it takes dedication and determination to trek to the Pleasance at a ridiculous hour after breaking the Power Drinking Rule in Big Cheese... But you won't be alone, joined by other equally still 'influenced' students ready to face the 3 hour bus journey into the Highlands - a bond is created - a life long bond...As soon as the snowflakes fall in January we aim to take 50 people up to the resort with the best snow, so it could be Glencoe, Cairngorm, Lecht, Glenshee, or Nevis - where the weather can blue skies or blizzard. Apart from the exciting couple of weekend trips, Sundays are the day - and best of all - the Scottish Trips are cheap with the Highland bus costing a measly £1 !!!
Although the snow conditions might not be ideal, with rocks and streams getting in the way - Scottish skiing at its best can be amazing and worst comes to worst - there's usually a wee pub nearby.

Resort: Val D Isere
Dates: 4th-12th April 2008
Price: £389
Like the christmas trip, cept with more chocolate, so its better.
Yes, the easter trip beckons you from snowy capped peaks and frothy lager tops. However its not just sweet treats that should tempt you, staying at val d'isere at an absolute steal should get you taste buds tingling too. shred a wicked resort during the day and party like you mean it at night(/day!).
This trip promises to embrace skiers, boarders, lash artists (bladers will be tolerated, just). Plus Wasterland ski tour operator have offered us a cracking all inclusive deal, too good to miss. So come and be part of something ugly (lets be honest, its never going to be pretty). And remember, chocolate/alcohol taste better at altitude- they get you messed up quicker too.

The first big competition of the University Snow Sports calendar. The Scottish University Dryslope Championships (SUDS) is traditionally held at Europe's largest toothbrush - Hillend. SUDS includes racing and freestyle disciplines for skiers and boarders and EUSSC are current raining champions.
Spread over 2 days events include big air, slope style, Giant Slalom and Team dual Slalom. SUDS is the first chance for snow sports competition and provides a good opportunity to cut your teeth in Drylsope competition and the more experienced competitors to warm up for BUDS.
All levels of competitor are encouraged to take part with the all levels of competitor present at SUDS.
- - BUDS
Event: British University Dry Slope Competition
Location: Hillend Ski Centre
Dates: 9th - 10th Nov 2007
The biggest competition of the year to take place at a dry slope. The British University Dryslope Championships (BUDS) takes in Universities from all over the country. Once again held at Edinburgh's very own Hillend, the steepest and longest in Europe.
Competitions include, individual Slalom, Giant Slalom, Team dual slalom, Big Air and slope style.
Events at BUDS command BUSA points so competition at the top end becomes quite serious with some of the best university riders in the country taking part, but once again there's plenty of room for the first time competitior.
With so many students up for a weekend of partying in Edinburgh the night life is often the high light for some of the more relaxed racers and freestyle competitors; with big events put on by the organisers the almighty BUSC committee.

Event: British University Snowsport Club - Main Competition
Resort: Hinterglem - Austria
Dates: 22nd March - 4th April 2008
I could wax lyrical for a long period of time on the amazing BUSC. The British Universities Snow Sports Championships. Run by a rotating committee elected by the member universities (about 60 some I believe) BUSC is held abroad in a resort of the committees choosing (this year hinterglen). BUSC takes place over two weeks with the competitions taking place during the second week.
The one chance of the year for anyone to experience full mountain competion for skiers and boarders. Events include. Slalom, Giant Slalom, Super G, Team dual slalom, Big air, Slope Style, Half Pipe, Skier cross and Boarder cross (sometimes there's also an all mountain comp as well).
For those that aren't interested in competing perhaps the lure of a couple of thousand students (including a couple of hundred from Edinburgh) and a fantastic price will convince you it's one of the best experiences any one can have on snow. - - weekly social
Location: Rush
Dates: Every Thursday
Drink Deals: Fosters - £1.50 | Vodka, Rum, Gin (Coke/Lemonade/Tonic) - £1Each Thursday those of us who love the booze and banter gather at RUSH bar on the Cowgate. This is the ideal place to sign up to the club if you missed the sign up days at Potterow, and is also the place to get info from committee members about Trips, Social Events and Competitions. It's also a great way to pull.
We usually go on each week to a club, and this year the line up is Base, The Hive and Stereo. As a member you get cheap drinks and queue jump at all of these. The committee are always around touching each other inappropriately, and we love getting to know and abuse freshers so come and give us your best chat, we don't bite (unless we're provoked). Thursdays are awesome..... what more can I say? Oh yeah...... watch out for golf balls.

Get out your piste maps because this will be one run you will never forget! Lay your trust entirely in the wisdom of your committee members who will be your mountain guides for the night. It's quite simple, we tour from pub to pub, wearing something ridiculous, (no options to wimp out here) and we get battered by drinking something different at each place.
We start in Rush and you will be in groups so you get the chance to meet loads of new people, and there is often plenty of heaving petting going on in the final club. There is often much competition amongst the groups, don't disappoint your guides! Nakedness is highly encouraged. Will you still be standing at the end of the night???

Location: RUSH
Dates:7:00pm - 24th Jan 2008
"The drinks on the bus go down and down, down and down, down and down,...the spinning in your head goes round and round,...all night long!"
Get on the bus, wearing something mortifyingly embarrassing. Get smashed courtesy of free wine, beer and shots on the bus. Get off at set pubs where you get more free drinks, try to remember to get back on the bus (by the end of the night our numbers are seriously dwindled due to a 'man left behind' factor.) Pole dance on the bus, fall on people, grope the committee, get off again, keep going until the end of the night where we finish up in a club. Wake up battered and bruised and thoroughly pleased with yourself that you made it till the end. For a mear £12 it couldnt get any better!!!!

- - SNO!fresh
Location: SNO!zone
Dates: 17th Oct 2007
Ho Ho Ho, its time to get sweaty under the mistletoe!
SNO!zone Scotland would like to offer you and your club a friendly invitation to join us for a unique freshers party night. On Wednesday the 17th of October 2007 we'll have students from across the UK flocking to our three sites for SNO!fresh, a national night of discount shredding and good old student snowsports party vibes.
On slope we'll have Scotland's finest Jib Park with dedicated rookie area and free coaching, all for the bargain price of £20 for three hours! As if that wasn't good enough value, we'll throw in a free apres drink in the SNO!bar when you're done.
We at SNO!zone pride ourselves on knowing what students want, so a free après drink won't be all that awaits you in the SNO!bar. We'll be working in conjunction with Jagermeister and Relentless to provide you with prizes, giveaways and that old favourite, the JagerBomb! [An attempt to break the UK domino Jagerbomb record is yet to be confirmed, watch this space!] You can expect special drink promos and live DJs all night and just to help you rave at your best, we'll be dishing out more free glow sticks than you can fit up your arm!
Despite the name, SNO!fresh is by no means a freshers-only night. We realise that the more senior campaigners among you enjoy the shred and party just as much as the young whippersnappers do. Besides, you'll need to bring your most hardened bar competitors if you're to taste victory in the prestigious Inter-Uni Boat Race competition.
Although we don't have to convince you to dress up in daft costumes for these events, we will be picking the best (or worst) dressed from each university to take part in a death-defying fancy-dress toboggan race of terror. This is sure to provide some of the best banter of the night and gain a coach load of kudos for the victor, so if you want to win it, dress up innit!?!
SNO!fresh Scotland will take place from 5pm on the 17th of October at SNO!zone, Xscape Braehead. If you need help with transport to and from the event, to nominate a DJ to play at the event or for any other questions or queries then please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Hope to see you there!

The event where legends are made..... the infamous snowball, which has a reputation that keeps getting better and better. We have a Ceilidh, a DJ, a full 3 course dinner and prizes galore. Last year we gave away so many prizes it took half an hour. The themes are superb, everyone scrubs up really nicely, and there is so much making out it might as well be a club 18-30's holiday in Magaluf. The hotels and food are always classy and we do try to be on good behaviour, but we are EUSSC so it doesn't last long! This is one event not to be missed, if there is only one thing you do this year let it be this
