RACE.

First of all let me spend a few moments congratulating all of you that turned up to SUDS yesterday and helped us claim the overall title.  Let me also congratulate the freestylers for their strong performance too.
Special highlights from the team include a dominating performance from Dave Harrison who won the men’s GS as well as the men’s individual dual slalom, Nicola Ogilvie who came 3rd in the women’s GS as well as the individual slalom, and Holly Aird who won the women’s board GS as well as the women’s dual slalom. Strong performances were also delivered by the first team who won the team dual slalom and the board dual slalom team which placed 3rd earning their spot on the podium after beating a dominant Napier team. The fact that there was only one point separating us from Napier is a testament to the importance of the hard work and dedication from every member of the team.
We must now shift our attention onto the upcoming BUDS weekend which promises to be even more competitive.  Training which has gone on for the last 6 weeks is unfortunately over, but we will try to squeeze in a Hillend ski before BUDS (details to be confirmed).  In preparation for BUDS we will also be hosting a ski tuning session in the EUSSC lock up on Thursday night at 7pm.
The schedule for BUDS
·         Friday Course inspection will start at 10:00 AM  for the skiers and 10:30 AM for the boarders.
·         Saturday course inspection will start at the earlier time of 8:30 for the GS and duals will start at 13:00 for the boarders and 14:00 for the skiers .
Make sure you make it to the events you said you’d do.
Unfortunately we will not be running a bus for the competitors, but will organise rides for the racers on an individual basis.  Email to follow with details.
Also those of you that said you will race, please ensure you do turn up to the races as promised in order to keep your deposit and minimise confusion with the team.
Cheers and thanks again for all your hard work and dedication.
Simon

Freestyle

Firstly thanks to everyone that showed up, whether you were competing or cheering it was amazing!

This year we had quite a lot to live up to and thankfully we managed that with Charlotte Clarke coming first in slopestyle and big air - massive well done to her, lets hope she can dominate BUDS too!  Another congratulations to all the guys that made the finals - Jo Rosario, Mike Davis, Hugo Scrimgeour, Mark Ratnage and Michas Jablonski (Polski!).

I'd also like to give a shout out to Omar Bakhaty who didn't make the finals but did however make the hospital with a broken (and mangled) wrist, to make it even better it was his 21st - he did make his party though... just!!

Remember to head up to hillend this wednesday to practise those freestyle moves, we'll all be there.  If not head up on Saturday to cheer us on at BUDS! Lets see if we can come first at BUDS too!!

Edinburgh win SUDS!
