A roarin day out at the Zoo!

After a hugely messy Party Bus last week we've decided all our livers might need to take
a night off this week, so come down to Rush around 8.30pm where we'll have some chill
time and you can come buy your tickets for SUDS and BUDS.

Some of you might have been lost in the clouds and have no idea what SUDS and BUDS are...
If thats you, basically Friday 13th of November massive night out with all the different
ski clubs in City - tickets cost £5 (but need to be bought before Thursday, otherwise are
£8-£10 on the door!)

Then on Saturday 14th of November, taking a bus up to Hillend (the dry ski slope) at
1.30pm and have a rave up on the mountain while we watch some awesome skiing/boarding
(guaranteed hot boys and girls pulling some rad tricks!). Its a free bus up but send your
name and matric number to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to save a spot on the bus.

Then that night there a Ball - how flash! tickets cost £35 but if like most of us you
dont have an endless supply of money after dinner gatecrasher tickets cost £15.

The previous week is SUDS on Saturday the 7th of November. Tickets for the night out are
£5 and include a ceilidh and buffet (woop!).

If your wanting tickets for any of the events come to Potterrow on either Monday or
Wednesday between 12.30pm - 2pm, or come down to Rush on Thursday night where we'll be selling tickets between 8.30pm - 10pm. If you really can't get to any of these events
then drop an email to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and i'll sort you out!

Race News

Hey Guys,

First of all, let me thank all those that came to the last  few Hillend training sessions. We are now at the halfway point of our training schedule and BUDS and SUDS are just around the corner so its never too late to join. Come down this Wednesday to George Square (Bus leaves at 5) if you want a lift up to take part in the last few training sessions. This week will be the quietest one yet as we are the only group booked on, which means that in addition  of a GS from the top, there will also be a dual slalom course set up in order to train for this most banterfull event.  So come down if you want to get involved, or if you just want to improve your skiing prowess, equipment will be available for all those that don't have any and the lift pass is included all for the heavily subsidized price of 15 Pounds. Also this will be a great time to register for BUDS and SUDS before the Thursday deadline. (any questions?? email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. F-f-f-f-freeeee-style

Hey guys and girls!

Hopefully you will all be aware of what SUDS and BUDS are by now, if not check the videos above!

SO if you do want to compete, and get yourselves free entry to after parties which are bigger than a blue whales scrotum (do whales have scrotums/scrota?), then you need to get a deposit to me/someone at clothing sale (mon or wed) by Thursday.  Similarly if you could email me and tell me that you would like to compete, what you would like to enter and if you would like to go to the afterparties (sat night the 7th and Friday night the 13th); then at least I know who I’m waiting on deposits for!  Thanks a mill guys.  Hit me up at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. THIS WEDNESDAY we’ll be having the usual fun up at hillend, hopefully with a video camera as well so you can see what you’re doing/not doing etc etc, remember leaving 5pm from g square, be there!

Lessons News: Sort your skillz oot!

Hello all you lovely EUSSC members!  It's all go on the lessons front this week..LOTS to
tell you so keep reading if you know what's good for you!

1. ***LEARN TO SKI OR BOARD IN A DAY***

Yes that's right - EUSSC are giving you the chance to become a ski/board MACHINE in one
day!!!  MADNESS!

Baaaaasically(depending on numbers) we all jump on a bus/in cars and have a trip through
to the indoor slope in Glasgow where you'll get an afternoons worth of lessons on REAL
SNOW!  Hell YES!

It's a really good way to learn a lot in a short space of time and gives you a chance to
kick start your skiing/boarding if you wern't able to commit to the block of six lessons
on a Wednesday!  As if that's not persuasion enough there is a bar there too where you
can chill out with a nice cold beer/whatever tickles your fancy afterwards to get you
into the apres ski way of life which you will most definately experience if you book onto
one of the trips this year!

The total price of the trip is £50 which may sound like a lot but it really is a
fast-track to learning and has always been popular in previous years so is definately
worth while!

If that's not enough persuasion I am planning on joining in with the boarding lesson so
if you haven't been tempted already then come along for the sheer entertainment of
witnessing me eat snow for 3 hours!

It is set to go ahead on ***Wednesday the 28th of October***, leaving George Square at
1pm.  I know some of you will have lectures but if anything is worth missing them for
it's this!

Sooo if you're interested email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it with your name, matric no. and
what it is you want to learn! (skiing or boarding)

It's going to be WILD.  Fact.

2.  ***HILLEND SESH THIS SATURDAY***

Because we love you so much (and are SUCH nice people) we are giving you ANOTHER chance
to practice your moves at the dry slope next Saturday...

There will be lessons up for grabs, a freestyle sesh and, for those of you just wanting
to rock around by yourself, the chance to come up for a general ski/board!

The bus is set to leave George Square at ***3.45pm on Saturday 24th*** so if you're keen
make sure you get down early with £2 (bus charge) to bag yourself a seat!

The lessons are going for ***£15 each(!!)*** which works out at £5 for 2hrs worth of
teaching time (because the lift pass costs £10.50 alone!)  So you really would be crazy
to miss out!

It's a really good chance to get a taste of what skiing/boarding is like (i.e.
AMAZING) and will give you a chance to get to know more peeps from the
club - all this AND we'll get you back to Edinburgh before 8pm to give you plenty time to
get your glad rags on for a night on the razz!

If you're already getting Wednesday lessons then it's a great chance for
you to come up to practice what you've already been taught! It's £10.50
for lift pass (equipment hire included) and £2 for the bus up there!

So..if you're not busy then come up to learn some new skills/meet some people/have some
laughs - in fact even if you ARE busy cancel your plans and get on board...DO IT..you
know you want to!

Look forward to seeing you all either at Hillend or Ski/board in a day!

Over and OOT!
Katie
